Say Good-bye to all your haters as Twitter now lets you limit who can reply your tweet

Goodbye to all the haters and bad-belle people who think jumping into someone else’s conversation to share their unwanted wisdom is their birthright!

Earlier this year, Twitter began testing a new feature that allows users to limit who can reply to their tweets. However, the feature has been on beta mode to allow a few Twitter users to test it, but that is history now. Twitter has announced that everyone across the globe can now access this feature and limit those who can reply to their tweets. This is to help increase the amount of “meaningful conversations” that take place on Twitter, and to help people weed out abuse and spam in their replies.

According to Twitter's Director of Product Management, Suzanne Xie: "Starting today, everyone will be able to use these settings so unwanted replies don’t get in the way of meaningful conversations,".

Accessing this new feature is simple. While composing your tweet, you are provided with three options for selecting who can reply to your tweet: Everyone (default), only people you're following, or only people that are mentioned in the tweet. Whenever you select an option other than Everyone, the reply icon is grayed out, indicating to ‘everyone’ that they can’t reply to that particular tweet.

However, users who can’t reply to your tweet will still be able to view, retweet, retweet with comment, share, and like these tweets.

With so much trolls and hate speeches spreading on social media these days, this new feature should come in handy to many of us.

Wow this is awesome and extremely helpful. You guys are beyond wonderful, its great. Some people just jump into conversations even if they don't know what it is about then they start saying bad things. I'm in full support of this.

Nice one Twitter! It's good and a welcome development. At least some people will learn to mind their business. Scamming will be curbed too.

I've seen it. It's a good feature, closing the door against hateful and irrelevant reply to Tweets and opening a new door of security, where the rights of Tweeter users are protected. Kudos to the inventors.
