Xiaomi has just launched a new affordable gaming laptop, the Xiaomi Redmi G. The company already has a couple of notebook laptops but this is its first for gaming. There have now joined the league of gaming laptop manufactures like Asus, Acer, Lenovo, Dell etc who are already dominating the market. The Redmi G comes at a mind-bending $760 starting price and goes up to $1,000 without making any compromises with the hardware. This is however, the Chinese market price and might change for global variants.

This new laptop features a sleek design, 16.1-inch display with a Full HD screen resolution for its IPS panel and full-sized backlit keyboard. The screen is capable of peak brightness of 300nits, can cover 100% of the sRGB colour space and has 81 percent screen-to-body ratio. The most interesting feature of the Xiaomi Redmi G is its refresh rate which goes up to 144 Hz.

The Xiaomi Redmi G's 720p webcam is located at the bottom of the screen this might be due to its slim bezels. The laptop comes in three configurations, the highest model comes with an Intel i7-10750H processor and the NVIDIA GTX 1650 Ti GPU. The mid-range configuration of the Redmi G comes with the Intel i5-10300H processor and the NVIDIA GTX 1650 Ti graphics. The lower-end model features an Intel i5-10200H and a slower NVIDIA GTX 1650 graphics chip.

All variants of the Redmi G comes with 16GB DDR4 RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. Has a Hurricane Cooling 2.0 copper cooling system with dual-fans and vents on each side. Connectivity options include WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, Gigabit Ethernet port, 1 x USB 2.0, 2 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB Type-C, 1 x Mini DP 1.4, 1 X HDMI 2.0, up to 3.5mm headphone jack.

The laptop is shipped with Microsoft Windows 10 Home OS with a 55Wh battery capacity that is claimed to last for five and a half hours of intense usage.
